Welcome to Neighbor Network

"Neighbors helping neighbors is such a small act, yet has such a big impact"

Neighbor Network, Inc. is a non-profit charity organization located in Howard County, Maryland whose mission is to provide support in the way of monetary and non-monetary distributions to needy, less fortunate individuals and/or families. Our vision is to empower others to better their situations and to bring the spirit of giving to the hearts of our youth, as well as the rest of the community.

We provide assistance during the holiday season, as well as throughout the year. In August we sponsor a School Backpack Drive which provides fully stocked backpacks to children of low income families. In November, we sponsor a Thanksgiving Basket Collection which provides families with all of the trimmings for a Thanksgiving dinner. Volunteers can donate items towards a Thanksgiving dinner or donate an entire dinner for a family. Volunteers are also utilized to help deliver the Thanksgiving baskets, as well. In December, we sponsor a Christmas Adopt-A-Family Program. Low income families are provided with needed items, such as food, household items, grocery and department store gift certificates, toys, clothing, and/or personal care items. This program has allowed the community, from the very young to the very old, to get involved by helping to shop and wrap for the many families we adopt.

We receive various requests for assistance throughout the year. We have provided families, who have been burned out of their home, with furniture, clothing, and household items; an appliance to an elderly women on limited income; clothing; rent assistance; security deposits for housing; electric bill assistance; grocery and department store gift cards; gift bags to the women of the Domestic Violence Center; just to name a few.

We serve low income families, as well as those who have experienced hardships such as fire, loss of a job, illness and other unfortunate circumstances. Our families have been referred to us by various sources, such as the Johns Hopkins Bay View Medical Center’s Department of Child Psychiatry, Congregations Concerned for the Homeless of Howard County (CCH), the Howard County Public School System, Baltimore’s Social Services, Christ Link Outreach Services of Howard County, Multiservice Center of Howard County, and the community.

We are a first line contact for social workers, school pupil personnel workers (PPW), therapists, etc. when individuals and/or families are identified in need of assistance. We are seeking out the public for their support in donating money, manpower, and resources. There are so many people in our community who wish to help those in need, yet don’t know how, and there are so many individuals and/ or families who are in need. Neighbor Network, Inc. wishes to help bridge the gap between those who want to help and those who need the help.
